VIZIO E420i-A1 LED HDTV “My Grandma LOVE IT”.

I bought VIZIO E420i-A1 LED Smart HDTV for my grandmother because her old tube TV has passed away – contrary to their expectations before my grandma.

The VIZIO E420i-A1 start proved to be very easy, you will be the first time to run through a 24-step installation process, in which all settings as analogue reception, digital cable reception, satellite Settings and network setup can be performed.

My grandma has digital cable at Unity Media, which made even choose from a list of providers. The downside, the digital channel list can then no longer sort like grandma’s used, only the favorite lists can be sorted then arbitrarily. So I did a search without vendor selection and the programs brought into the order you want – time for about 30 minutes, because the menu reacts sometimes a bit sluggish. USB is used but also secure program lists and play if there is an external editor program list but I have not investigated.

The switchover to digital and analog programs are good and with a Alphacrypt Classic CI module and a smart card function Unitymedia all programs – even the encrypted – flawlessly. Although Internet use my grandma and HbbTV (Teletext 2.0 & Media Access) is not furnished yet and I’ve tried. Operation is intuitive and easy to learn without manual – selbige incidentally is still packed tight in the plastic bag, I did not need instructions.

The VIZIO E420i-A1 LED Smart HDTV used for the menu structure “XMB” (CrossMediaBar) is copied from the Playstation 3 and is now found in all Sony devices. You can complete command with the directional pad on the remote control, and leaves little to be desired. After a short time you get used to and not used as much functions are found quickly.

With the normal operation will first go to my grandmother and is rightly very surprised what “today” everything in such a small device fits – she would never buy a VIZIO TV!.
